To God be the glory, the Logba (Ikpana) New Testament audio Bible recording has been completed.

The Logba people call themselves and their language Ikpana, which means ‘defenders of truth’. The language is spoken in the south-eastern part of Ghana by approximately 7,500 people. Before the Bible was recorded in Logba or Ikpana, Church services were conducted in the Ewe language. Someone would read the Bible verse to the entire congregation in Ewe, after which the pastor would interpret into Ikpana and then preach.

Due to rural-urban migration, the dominant language in the area today is Ewe, closely followed by Twi. Even though the New Testament has been translated into Logba (Ikpana), another major challenge was, people could not read their mother tongue. As a result, over 7,000 Logba speakers couldn’t access the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the message of Salvation. For many years, major meetings were held by pastors and Church group leaders to find a solution.

The completion of the Logba New Testament recording marks a significant milestone for the Logba community. It represents a crucial step in preserving the Logba language and cultural heritage, ensuring that future generations will have the opportunity to build a deeper relationship with God by listening to the audio Bible in their heart language.
