Meet Akua Antobam, a resilient 70-year-old widow residing in the community of Nyame Nti, located within the Asene Akroso Manso in the Eastern Region of Ghana. With seven children to raise, Madam Akua faced numerous challenges, but also found strength in her faith and in the words of her late husband, who had always encouraged her to be strong and independent. With hard work and determination, Akua was able to provide for all her children.
With time, Akua, affectionately known as Maame Antobam, began to struggle to reconcile her estranged relationship with her son. As their relationship waned, she felt abandoned and unloved. She tried to reach out to her son multiple times but he would always turn her away.
However, a transformative moment occurred when Maame Antobam heard the parable of the prodigal son, as narrated in the gospel according to Luke from the audio Bible in Akwapem language. Moved by the message, she turned to God, praying for His Grace to turn her bitterness into forgiveness and heal her heart. As she continued to listen to the audio Bible in her language, her resentment toward her son was gradually relieved. She found true peace in her heart and was able to open her arms and accept those who had wronged her as well.
Deeply committed to her newfound faith, Maame Antobam is now an active member of the New Apostolic Church. Her journey of spiritual growth and forgiveness has been further enhanced by the Akuapem Twi audio Bible provided by Theovision International.
Today, Maame Antobam stands before us, a testament to the power of God’s Word in the mother tongue, and the profound impact it can have on an individual’s life. “I want to thank God for guiding me towards forgiveness. I also thank Theovision International for bringing us the audio Bible.“
