Theovision International has provided free healthcare to deprived communities within the Anyinofi and Watoro areas of the Ashanti and Bono East Regions. Officers and inmates of the Ejura Prison also benefitted from the weeklong exercise.

Approximately 2500 residents were screened and treated for various diseases while 401 residents, mainly women and children either registered with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) or renewed their enrollment to the scheme.

The annual medical campaign is Theovision’s expression of Christian love to deprived communities in Ghana. Beyond providing quality medical care for deprived populations, it offers counselling and Christian help to needy residents.

The top ten diseases identified in the area include rheumatism and joint pains, malaria, upper respiratory tract infections, gastritis, skin diseases, conjunctivitis, hypertension, peptic ulcer, cataract, and otitis media. Others include diabetes, typhoid, insomnia and arthritis.

The District Director of Health at Atebubu, Mr. Kwadwo Osei Sarfo commended Theovision for the massive medical outreach. He said the data represent the prevalent health conditions of the people in the area and would serve as a guide for intervention programs in the district.

On his part, the President of Theovision International, Mr. Theodore Philip Asare reiterated his organization’s commitment to support rural communities with quality healthcare so they can realize their God-given potential.
