The President of Theovision International has told staff of circumstances that led to his detention at the Cairo International Airport several years ago.
He made the disclosure in a face-to-face interview with staff of Theovision International as part of this year’s Founder’s Week activities.
“In those days, anyone who had been to Israel was not allowed to enter Egypt. Upon discovering I had been to Israel, they seized my passport and detained me at the airport.
“Fortunately, the Ghana Embassy in Cairo got to know about it and negotiated my release. It was a setback to me at the time. Eventually, I returned home without attending the conference,” he recalled.
The president answered several other questions on aspects of his life from childhood through ministry which has spanned 36 years. Staff were surprised to hear that their President was a former boxing champion in his village. After completing school, he joined a group of young men to learn boxing.
“An old boxer had come to town and finding that the boys had nothing to occupy their time beyond farming, he mobilized us to try our hands at boxing. That’s how I became boxer,” he said, amidst laughter and giggling from staff.
When asked about the secret of his success in ministry, he said in times of need and difficulties, God would send consolation though someone. “The testimonies we kept receiving from the field helped me to fight on,” he stated.
The president admonished staff to continue the good work they are doing and God will bless them.
