Life is like a puzzle; for some, the pieces fall right into place, but for others, figuring out where each piece should fall is a challenge. Fitting all of the puzzle pieces together can be overwhelming sometimes, but with determination, any puzzle can be solved. Hilda Wilson, a 28-year-old lady fell into the category of people trying to figure out how to put their lives together.

“I have always lived my life the way I wanted, neither did I have a relationship with God. I didn’t know what my identity and purpose in God was at the time, and as a result, I was easily swayed by the winds of life.” Hilda said.

Hilda was among 20 youth who graduated from the New Life Opportunity Skills Training on February 5, 2022. A minimum of 20 youth are given one-year skills training in sewing and bead making annually, an initiative by Theovision International, a nonprofit Christian organization to empower these young people with skills to improve their lives. They are equipped with Personal Development, Grooming and Entrepreneurial Skills.

As part of their training, they gather every Friday to study the Word of God and pray. The crowning achievement at the end of the training is that, these graduates are given a startup capital and a sewing machine to start their “new life” with.The training Hilda received at the New Life Opportunity Centre helped her to discover her new self. Cat-walking to the stage, Hilda received the “Most Transformed” award, and with excitement, exclaimed, “see what the Lord has done, I never thought I could live a meaningful life until Theovision gave me a purpose and a proper guidance”.

Not only did Hilda graduate with this prestigious award, she also found her identity through the training. She is now a Christian, with the drive for evangelism and prayers to the glory of the Lord. Hilda is a fashion designer who is going out there to storm the market with her exquisite skills in sewing and bead making.
