Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law, day and night. (Psalm 1:1-2, NIV).  Meditating on the law of the Lord is to listen to God’s Word regularly, but how can one listen to God’s Word when he / she has not heard? For faith comes only by hearing the Word of God.

Many street preachers, lay pastors, church leaders and individuals who have the desire to study God’s Word but cannot read or write have now been given the opportunity to acquire knowledge in Theology through the Oral Bible School program.

The Oral Bible School in Ghana, which is affiliated to the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, USA, focuses on educating church workers and individuals, who have never been to any formal school but wish to be preachers of the gospel.

Theovision International together with Moody Bible Institute and Woodside Bible Church, have sponsored 488 students across Ghana to go through the 2023/2024 Oral Bible School program. The students graduated on April 4 and April 6, 2024. The ceremonies were held in Techiman, in the Bono East Region, and Anyinam, in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

These students have now been equipped with God’s Word to become preachers of the gospel in their respective communities.  Their journey began with a hunger for truth, a thirst for understanding, and a passion to serve. Now, equipped with biblical knowledge through the audio Bible and biblical content from the Moody Bible Institute, they are poised to impact communities across Ghana with their divine calling.

The ceremony was graced by faculty members and dignitaries from Moody Bible Institute, Chicago-USA, Woodside Bible Church, Michigan –USA, as well as other dignitaries from USA and Ghana.  

Dr. Joseph Stowell, a former President of Moody Bible Institute and Cornerstone University, in his speech, urged the graduates to take what they’ve learned to others and introduce them to the saving wonders of God, and the beautiful likeness of Jesus Christ. He said, “Our prayer is that in all of your learning, you discovered the wonder of God. The more you learn about God, the more wonderful he becomes. The wonder of his love that pursues us every day of our lives. The wonder of his I will never leave you or forsake you. The wonder of his protection and provision. When you know how wonderful God is, it is easy to love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your strength. And it is easy as well to worship this wonderful God with energy and joy. In all of your learning, you came to admire Jesus Christ. Admire him in a way that you want to be like Him. That you are ready to forgive others quickly as he forgave you. To love others in the way that he has loved you. And to serve others the way he served you and me all the way to the cross. So, learning to admire him and becoming like him shows our world what Jesus is really like. And it is our prayer for you as well, that as a result of you being in this class, you will now take what you have learned to others and introduce them to the saving wonders of your God. And the beautiful likeness of Jesus Christ.”

These graduates could not hide their excitement and joy on the graduation day as they joyfully sang, danced, and glorified God. Together with the overall best student for level 1, these graduates testified about the program and how impactful it has been, expressing profound gratitude to Theovision International, Moody Bible Institute and Woodside Bible Church for the opportunity to become preachers of God’s Word and His Love in their communities.  

Theovision International and Moody School of the Bible’s legacy continues, shaping Christian leaders who will carry hope, love, and truth to a world in need.
